Before this dimmable LED desk lamp was fully out of the box, it had already done something right: there’s a carry handle built into the top, and it’s immediately obvious why. Quick Verdict
I tapped the touch strip once and the light jumped bright, tapped again and it dimmed. Counting up, I hit 11 taps to run it all the way to full. The arm bends up, down and side to side, and the whole thing has a little carry handle, which is really nice.
Buy if you:
- Want a touch dimmer you tap instead of clicking a switch
- Read or study at a desk and want the arm to angle over your work
- Need to top off a phone from the built-in USB port

Eleven Taps to Full Bright on This Dimmable LED Desk Lamp
Opening it up, there’s a soft cleaning cloth inside, the instructions, and the cord. I always like to double check whether anything’s hidden under the tray. Nothing hiding under there. So the box comes off, this part comes up, and, oh, look at that. That’s so cool. The head sits on an articulating arm and the base has that touch strip right on it.
What You Get in the Box and On the Base
The lamp stands 15.5″ tall and runs 13″ long, with a touch-sensitive dimmer strip on the base. No physical button to click. You put your finger on the strip and slide or tap to move brightness up and down. It’s rated for 5 brightness levels and 3 lighting modes, plus that auto-off timer set for 30 or 60 minutes. When I counted the steps by tapping up, I got 1 through 11 before it hit full, so there’s plenty of fine control between dim and blast-your-eyes bright.
No power adapter comes in the box, you supply a 5V 1-2A USB brick from your own stash. The brand recommends a 5V 1-2A source. So dig out a phone-style USB brick you already own. There’s also a USB charging port on the lamp itself, so it can push a little juice back to your phone while it’s sitting there.
Plug It In, Tap the Strip, Angle the Head
Setup is literally finding a USB brick and plugging in. The touch strip responded on the first tap, no lag, no double-tap required. Tap up to raise brightness, tap down to drop it; the 11 steps give you enough range that you’re not jumping from candlelight to interrogation-room bright in one move.
The arm is the part I kept playing with. You can angle this however you want. Up, then down, side to side. It goes any direction I want it to, up to an extent. From there I could raise the head up, drop it down, swing it to different directions, and land the light exactly on the page or keyboard. Peel off the little protective film on the head and boom, all the way bright. That’s the whole learning curve. There isn’t one. Touch, angle, read.
The base has a nice soft bottom to it, so it isn’t sliding around the desk or scratching the surface. The memory function holds the setting you left it on instead of resetting to full bright every time. If you want to grab one you can see it on Amazon here.
The Arm Won’t Swing Behind the Base
Here’s the one catch I hit while moving the head around: it won’t go to the back. The arm raises up, drops down, and rotates in different directions, but it stops short of folding backward behind the base. For most desk setups that’s fine, since you’re pointing the light forward onto your work anyway. But if you were planning to tuck the head behind the lamp to bounce light off a wall, that’s not happening. Worth knowing before you decide where it lives on your desk.
No wall adapter ships with it, so if you unbox at night expecting a plug-and-play setup, grab a USB brick first. If you unbox this at night expecting to plug it straight into an outlet, you’ll be hunting for a USB brick first. Not a deal-breaker, just a heads up.
