I held it up in my hand and it barely filled it. That’s the whole first impression. 4.2 inches long, 1.2 inches across, 128 grams, and a little wrist handle already attached so it’s not rolling off the tailgate. Bright LED light bulbs will light a room, sure, but they don’t help you when the power’s out or when something’s moving around out past the fence line. This small zoomable LED flashlight does, and it fits in a pocket.
Quick Verdict

Buy if you:
- want a pocket light that lives in a drawer until the power goes out
- need to throw a tight beam out into a yard or up into a tree
- already own rechargeable AAA batteries and want to use them
- want something small enough to forget it’s in your jacket pocket

- hate a zoomed beam that shows the square shape of the LED chip on the wall
- want USB-C recharging built in, because this one takes loose AAA cells

You’re Looking for a Flashlight. This One Is Little Tiny.
It runs off three AAA batteries that come in the box. Aluminum body, IPX4 water resistance, 140 lumens out the front. Nothing exotic. That’s kind of the point.
The Zoom Makes a Square, and I Don’t Mind
The zoom produces a square beam, not a circle, you’re looking at the LED chip itself projected onto the wall. Not a circle. A square. That’s the LED chip itself getting projected up on whatever you’re pointing at, because you’ve zoomed in far enough that you’re basically looking at an image of the emitter.
It looks a little funny on a wall at close range. Out at distance it stops mattering, because you’re not staring at beam shape, you’re trying to find what you’re looking for. The listing rates the throw at up to 492 feet, and the tight setting is what gets you out there. Push the head back in and it opens up into a wide flood for walking around the house.
The head slides continuously, no clicks, no detents, no stopping points you didn’t choose. You stop where the beam looks right and that’s it.
Unscrewing the Top for the Batteries
Setup is one step: unscrew the top, drop in three AAA cells, push the carrier back in. There’s a little arrow stamped on the battery holder so you don’t put them in wrong, which I appreciated, because those triple-cell carriers are exactly the kind of thing people get backwards once and then blame the flashlight.
Here’s my suggestion though. Go buy yourself some rechargeable AAA batteries. It makes the whole thing easier. Alkalines come in the box so you’re lit up the minute it arrives, but if this is going to live in a car or a nightstand, rechargeables mean you’re not hunting for loose cells at midnight.
Where It Sits Next to Everything Else on Amazon
It’s ranked around #3,211 in Tools & Home Improvement, up from a 90-day average near #4,179, so it’s moving faster lately than it has been. Amazon’s page shows more than 1,000 bought in the past month. Today it’s also sitting a little under where it’s typically been over the last three months, which is worth a look at the current price on the listing.
The category it competes in is crowded with bright LED rechargeable flashlights that are bigger, heavier, and pushing four-figure lumen claims. This isn’t that. This is the small one you keep in a drawer. Different job entirely.
What’s Going On Inside the Head
A single 3-watt LED sitting behind a lens that physically slides forward on the head. That’s the entire zoom system. No electronics involved, no modes to cycle through to change beam width, just glass moving away from the emitter.
That’s why it works so cleanly and also why you get the square. When the lens is close, you’re throwing a wide unfocused spread. When it’s out at full extension, the lens is focusing a sharp image of the chip itself, and LED chips are square. Physics, not a defect.
The aluminum casing gives you the knurled grip and resists corrosion. IPX4 means splashes and rain, not submersion. Don’t drop it in a creek and expect a happy ending.
Buy Two, Buy Three
This is a multiples product. One in the junk drawer, one in the nightstand, one in the glovebox. At 140 lumens it won’t replace your trail headlamp, but it will throw a tight beam 40-plus yards into a tree, enough to spot what’s moving. The brighter light in the garage doesn’t help you at midnight. This one does, because it’s already there.

- Zoomed all the way in, the beam is a visible square instead of a round spot
- Runs on disposable AAA cells, so you’ll want to buy rechargeables separately
- 140 lumens is modest if you’re expecting the output of a big rechargeable light
What we’d improve
Two things the next version could fix without much effort:
- The square beam at full zoom, a textured or slightly diffused lens would round off the projected LED image without giving up much throw.
- No rechargeable option in the box, including three NiMH AAA cells instead of alkalines would match how most people will end up using this.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use rechargeable AAA batteries in it?
Yes, and I’d recommend it. It takes three standard AAA cells, so NiMH rechargeables drop right in. You just charge them in a separate charger, since there’s no USB port on the light itself.
Will it survive being left in a car through summer and winter?
The aluminum body handles it fine, but pull the batteries if it’s going to sit unused for months. Alkaline cells leak when they sit dead in a hot glovebox, and that’s what kills cheap flashlights more than anything else.
Is it safe to use in the rain?
It’s rated IPX4, which covers splashes and rain from any direction. It’s not rated for submersion, so don’t take it swimming or leave it sitting in a puddle.
Does the zoom mechanism need any maintenance?
Not really, but keep grit out of the sliding head. If it starts feeling gritty, wipe the exposed barrel with a dry cloth before sliding it back in rather than forcing it.
